$2000 will get an upgrade to 90HP and an additional passenger.

The newest iteration of the Spark also has a wider seat for more comfortable touring–something that earlier Sparks weren’t great at in terms of comfort.

It should be noted that the same Rotax engine is found on the 60 and 90 variants. Like a Tesla, a software upgrade can be applied to unleash more power. Other mods, like to the air intake and exhaust, will be needed to increase the top speed from 42mph to up to 50 mph.

Is the 2024 Sea Doo Spark 60 Worth the Money?

The 2024 Sea-Doo Spark 60 is the entry-level model in the Rec-Lite line, with a 60-horsepower engine. While the lower price may tempt you to buy this model, it’s essential to consider its features and capabilities before deciding if it’s worth the money.

For starters, the Spark 60’s top speed of around 40 mph (63 km/h) is significantly lower than that of higher-end Sea-Doo models. Furthermore, its 0-30 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds is slower than the 90-horsepower models, which can reach the same speed in 2.4 seconds.

While this may be a minor issue for those looking for a leisurely ride, those looking for a more thrilling experience on the water may be disappointed.

Second, the Spark 60 has a smaller fuel tank than higher-end models, requiring more frequent refueling during long rides. Furthermore, the Spark 60 may need to be more stable in rough water conditions due to its smaller size and lighter weight.

I have ridden the Spark for hours, and for me, a 20-year jet ski owner, it’s like bowling with bumpers or turkey bacon. Still good, but not quite the real thing. It’s worth considering whether spending more on a higher-end model with more features and capabilities is a better long-term investment. While the Sea-Doo Spark 60 is an excellent entry-level option for those on a tight budget, it’s essential to consider its limitations before deciding if it’s worth the money.
